How we got here

Hello, my name is Dana! I started this business for many reasons, but the most important one is that I’ve been in your shoes. I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and moved to the U.S. when I was 15. At the time, I didn’t know many people, I didn’t understand how things worked, and I didn’t speak any English.

Thankfully, I have a very Hispanic mom, and after just a month in high school, she started taking me along to interpret for her. It was through this experience—and the saying, “Pa’ eso te mando a la escuela, para que aprendas y me traduzcas” (I sent you to school so you can learn and translate for me)—that I began learning English. In the process, I developed a passion for languages and how they open doors and create meaningful connections.

My mom’s need for interpretation also taught me that translation is more than just repeating words in another language. It’s about helping people communicate their unique messages, and to do that, you need to connect with your audience—understanding their words, tone, and body language

That’s exactly what I want to do more than anything—help others communicate their message in a way that feels seamless. My goal is for my customers and clients to connect so deeply that they forget they’re speaking different languages. I want them to feel understood and heard, without the barrier of translation getting in the way. It’s all about fostering that sense of mutual understanding and genuine connection.
